The Entrepreneurs

An inspirational story of a group of unlikely entrepreneurs

Shot by the Academy Award-winning director of Born into Brothels, this documentary follows a group of unlikely entrepreneurs in Zambia.

The Entrepreneurs follows the journey of high school graduates Florence, Esnart, Ng'andwe and Precious as they embark on five months of intensive training. Like so many 19 year-olds they have dreams and ambitions but they have also faced great hardship in their lives. All the young women on the course come from backgrounds of rural poverty and many have suffered the loss of one or both of their parents. But with courage and determination they all achieve their ambition - becoming the youngest entrepreneurs in their rural communities.

What begins as a training course in leadership and enterprise, becomes a journey in empowerment, as the young women rise to the challenge and prove to their communities and themselves they are capable of great things.

In a unique program, Goldman Sachs, the University of Cambridge, and Camfed have provided young women in rural Africa with a way out of poverty: business and leadership training.
