About Us

We produce films that create social change

We partner with non–profits, public sector organisations and corporations to bring to life stories about people and issues that are often excluded from mainstream media. Our films raise awareness, stir compassion, and prompt lasting change.

By combining the expertise of people working on social issues with the expertise of filmmakers, we can bring unseen images and seldom heard voices to a broad audience to raise awareness and prompt change.

See Change Films recognises the sensitivities of working with vulnerable people, who are generally excluded from mainstream media and public debate. To this end, we work with talented filmmakers who are passionate about producing films for social change and who work with care and respect in order to create the optimum filmmaking environment.

I have a firm belief in the power of film to build bridges and connect us all.

—Morgan Freeman

Past success: Since 2006, Helen Cotton, the company's director and founder, has been working with Camfed – an organisation dedicated to fighting poverty and HIV and AIDS by educating girls in Africa – to produce a portfolio of films.

The films, including two feature length documentaries and 16 shorts, have reached hundreds and thousands of people in 81 countries. They have provided Camfed with the opportunity to raise money; reach new audiences; and be a tool for grassroots activism. And for the individuals who have featured in the films – the experience has been positive and often transformational. Telling your story through film can be a cathartic and empowering process that provides individuals with the opportunity to turn their experiences of suffering into positive tools for change and in turn, provide hope and inspiration for others.
